I am a web designer, graphic and brand designer, photographer and illustrator based in Stobo, just outside Peebles with over 35 years experience working across a wide range of industry sectors, in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders and Scotland generally.
My experience extends to almost every aspect of marketing and promotion, creating and developing brands, packaging design, originating digital, print-ready artwork for leaflets, brochures, posters, point of sale and display, exhibition panels, advertising campaigns, and social media imagery, digital illustration.
I have a detailed knowledge of production management, facilitating print and display of all kinds as well as the design, artwork and production of signage schemes.
In the past, I have worked as an art director/writer for a number of leading Scottish advertising agencies as well as working as an independent award-winning brand consultant for Scottish Widows over a 10 year period, helping to manage the Scottish Widows brand and play an instrumental role in the design and production of product literature and brand guidelines on an ongoing basis.
My clients include South of Scotland Enterprise, Muirhall Energy, NL Productions Edinburgh, Turin Castle Scotland, Douglas Home Chartered Accountants Edinburgh, Euroforest (in conjunction with Scene & Herd Marketing & PR), Berwickshire Housing Association, Tricapital Angel Investors and The Royal Scots Club Edinburgh.
Historic clients include Scottish Widows plc, BT, British Gas, Smith & Nephew, Reckitts Benckiser, Jenners, GNER and many more besides.
My interest in illustration is something that I have developed over the years and in light of my obsession with classic cars, it seemed only natural that I combine the two.
I now have a dedicated website featuring some of my work which is for sale in the form of high quality, limited edition prints, johnhamlinart.co.uk
